A quick update

I seem to have imbued the Cornish ‘dreckly’ attitude of late; which, to be honest, isn’t such a bad thing:-). Sink, enlarger electric testing, door hanging, blackout curtains etc. all being sorted and hope to be officially open for photo fun very soon. I will have the finalised dates for summer workshops/courses in the next week or so and will start to shout about them so do keep checking out FB and Twitter or Pop into the Pod here.

If you haven’t had chance yet you can still catch the exhibition at Bunscuffle at the MMI in St Agnes till May 25th.

Here’s a little taster…

Waking up from winter slumber

Well, I’m sort of waking up from my winter slumber having just returned from 3 weeks in the Sri Lankan sun. Now it’s time to crack on with all those ideas and plans for ShutterPod and I have kicked off with moving in to a new base in my lovely home village of St Agnes, Cornwall. The first coat of paint is drying right now on the photo gallery walls and next it will be time to settle in the darkroom bits and bobs. ‘Tis all very exciting. Lots to do so catch up soon. Josie x

Belated blogging

It’s been a few months. Not sure the blogging thing is for me at the moment as so busy with full-time work, ShutterPod sessions and a few other plans too.

Also seem to get writer’s block each time I sit down to say something. So instead of bleating on, I am off to make a few more Pod plans for 2015. 2015; blimey, where’s the time flying?:-)

Why love analogue?

Good question. In today’s world of snap shot imagery, why wait when you can have it now? Well, for me, ShutterPod bod Josie I don’t want it now. I want it in a few hours, days, weeks, months or years’ time. I want the anticipation analogue brings, the feeling of magic that watching a negative or image emerge creates, the slowness of time, the quietness, the buzz, and completeness I get from seeing a vision in front of my camera turn into the tactile visual in my hands.

Check out What is analogue photography to find out why others love it too.
